План урока по теме: «Борьба с проблемами окружающей среды»

8 класс, учебник М.З. Биболетова «Enjoy English»

Цели и задачи:

Образовательные: обобщение изученного материала по теме «Экологические проблемы»; совершенствование навыков чтения и говорения; совершенствование лексических навыков.

Развивающие: повышение уровня мотивации к изучению английского языка; развитие памяти, воображения и логического мышления.

Воспитательные: способствовать развитию чувства ответственности и бережного отношения к природе; формировать умение работать в коллективе.

Оборудование: картинки с изображением видов природы; карточки с заданиями.

Структура урока

I.Начальный этап:

 

1.Приветствие-орг. момент

Ход урока:

I. Начальный этап:

1. Приветствие – орг. Момент.

T.: Good morning, boys and girls. I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. Who is absent today?

P: Nobody is absent.

T: Today we are going to continue speaking about ecology and environmental problems (Слайд 1, 2). But before starting answer my questions.

Речевая разминка

1) How are you?

2) What day is it today?

3) How many days of the week are there?

4) What is your favorite day of the week?

5) What do you usually do on Saturday?

6) What season is it now?

7) How many seasons of the year are there?

8) What are they?

9) What is your favorite season?

10) What month is it now?

How many months are there?

12) What`s the weather like today?

Do you like such weather?

No, I don’t. I like hot and sunny weather.

II. Основной этап:

Активизация лексики.

T: Please, look at the pictures and answer my questions. (Слайд 3)

What can you see in these pictures? (a forest, a lake, a seaside)

Is the nature beautiful?

Do you like to go for a walk in the forest?

Would you like to spend holidays at the seaside?

Do you like these places? Why?

P: answer the questions

T: Now let`s look at the other pictures. (Слайд 4)

What do you see? Do you like these pictures?

P: We can see the illustrations of different environmental problems (water, air pollution, deforestation). We don’t like these pictures at all.

T: I don’t like these pictures either, but unfortunately we come across with these problems every day. Today we will go on discussing the environmental problems and also well start speaking about different ways of protecting the environment and saving our planet.

T: First, let`s revise words and word combinations that help us to speak about environmental problems. (Слайд 5)

Task 1. Find the definitions to this words and word phrases:

ecology, deforestation, environment, recycling, endangered species, pollution, litter, human being

the natural world, including the land, water, air, plants, and animals, especially considered as something that is affected by human activity.

the process of damaging the air, water, or land with chemicals or other substances

a person

the study of the environment and the way that plants, animals, and humans live together and affect each other

a type of animal or plant that may soon become extinct (=disappear from the world)

the process of removing the trees from an area of land

the process of changing waste materials such as newspapers and bottles so that they can be used again

things such as pieces of paper that people have dropped on the ground in a public place, making it untidy


 

Task 2. Divide these words and word phrases into three groups (natural disasters, environmental problems, possible solutions) Слайд 6, 7, 8

Example: Natural disasters are …and ….

deforestation, floods, recycling, tornadoes, endangered species, air and water pollution, draughts, litter, chemical waste, earthquakes, reuse things, wind and solar power, global warming, reducing traffic, car exhaust fumes, greenhouse effect, tsunami, nuclear pollution, water and wave power, use public transportation, garbage, acid rain, volcano, preservation of species in zoos, eco tourism, health problems, eating biological food, environmental groups and organizations

T: Answer my questions, please. What are the most serious environmental problems from your point of view? (Слайд 9)

Составление кратких монологических высказываний

Teacher: With the development of our civilization we have become dangerous to the planet and to ourselves. What must we do not to find ourselves in a dirty desert in the near future? Some scientists are pessimistic about our problems. They suppose that we have already reached the point of no return. Others are more optimistic and believe that our ecological problems are solvable because more and more people begin to understand how dangerous they are. In many countries environmental protection agencies and research centers are set up. Such organizations as “Green Peace” and “Friends of the Earth” try to put pressure upon those governments that do not care for ecology in their countries. And scientists are looking for ways to make factories and cars run cleaner. (Слайд 10)

The future of our planet depends on each of us. Everyone should contribute to improving the ecological situation in their country. What should we do ourselves and what should we stop doing to save the Earth? (Our personal part in saving the planet). I give you three minutes to prepare your answers.

T: Use these ideas:

throw rubbish in the bins

buy and eat environmentally friendly products even if they are a bit more expensive

use public transport (instead of cars)

use a glass instead of a to-go cup

give up smoking

give up eating junk food

turn off the light before leaving a room

do sports

turn off the water while brushing teeth

take short showers instead of long showers

use your bike whenever possible

return used batteries to the store

turn off all electrical appliances when not in use

buy local fruit and vegetables

recycle paper instead of throwing it away

stop throwing away litter in the streets, in the forests and in the forests

T.: Your home task is translating of the text in Ex. 7 p.56 (SB) and illustrating one of the ways we use to protect the environment.

7. Рефлексия

 T.:   We’ve done a lot at the lesson. We have revised the words and word combinations connected with the environment and its problems, we have discussed several most serious environmental problems and the ways we can help our planet. (Слайд 12)

8. Подведение итогов

T.: выставление оценок, завершение урока

Хороший урок, направленный на закрепление лексики по непростой теме, а также на отработку монологического высказывания по теме.
